What goes into a custom water feature
Boulders hand-selected at the quarry
We pick the stone ourselves from local quarries rather than ordering a pallet sight unseen. The rock is the feature, so it gets chosen the way you would choose it.
Drilled in our own shop
We drill the boulders in house. That is why no two of our bubblers are the same and why we can build to a specific stone instead of designing around what a supplier happens to stock.
Pondless basins
The water disappears into a hidden reservoir instead of pooling on the surface. You get the sound without standing water, which is what makes these safe around kids and pets.
Low-maintenance by design
No open pond means no pond cleaning and far less upkeep than a traditional water garden. That is the practical difference between the two, and it is worth weighing before you choose.
Ponds and modern fountains too
If you want a traditional pond or a sleek aluminum fountain instead of a rock feature, we build those as well. The pondless bubbler is our signature, not our only option.
Placed where you will actually hear it
A water feature is an audio decision as much as a visual one. We site it against where you sit, where you walk in, and what it needs to drown out.
Water features and Weber County water use
A water feature has to justify itself when the yard is already on a metered allotment. A pondless system recirculates the same water rather than running it to waste, so ongoing use is topping up what evaporates rather than filling and refilling a pond. We will be straight with you though. Between splash and evaporation, a running feature does use a fair amount of water over a summer, and people watching their allotment closely do not always like hearing that. Better you know before you commit than after.

Common questions
How much water does a pondless feature actually use?
It recirculates, so ongoing use is replacing what evaporates rather than continuously running new water. We tie in a valve with an auto-fill, which works like the float in a toilet tank, so the basin tops itself up and you never think about it. Being straight about it, between splash and evaporation a feature does use a fair amount of water over a summer.
Is it safe around small children?
That is the main reason we build pondless. There is no standing water on the surface, just stone and the hidden basin underneath.
What happens in the winter?
We do not recommend draining it. We add a little RV antifreeze, which we use because it is biodegradable, and otherwise leave the basin alone. Snow and rain refill it over the winter anyway. We drain it in the spring at startup.
Does it need power nearby?
Yes, a pump needs a power source, and where that lands is part of the design. A licensed electrician runs the power. We coordinate it through a subcontractor we work with regularly, so you are not arranging that separately.
How much maintenance is it?
Far less than a traditional pond. There is no pond to clean and no fish to keep alive. Leaves and debris sit on top of the rock and get blown or raked off, and nothing reaches the water, because the rock over the basin acts as one big filter.
