Knight Building is the commercial project in the portfolio, and it reads differently from the residential builds. The planting shown sits tight to the building along its approach, in crushed rock rather than turf.
The answer here was weathering steel. Long rectangular weathering steel planters are set against the building, planted with fountain grass and seasonal color so the mass of steel has movement in front of it.
The rest is crushed rock and low planting kept tight to the architecture.
